Poster Hippopotamus
Description
A hippopotamus on the riverbank, finely hand-coloured in antique natural-history style. A calm focal point for hallway, study and nursery.
At the centre stands a powerful hippo in profile, softly shaded in warm grey-brown and ochre tones. The skin looks almost tangible, every fold traced with a delicate line. Behind it, reed grasses, a low shoreline and two companions wading in shallow water complete the scene. The cream background and slender lettering lend the illustration its nostalgic, scholarly mood.
Above a sideboard, in the home office or along a stairway, the motif brings quiet presence. Muted beige and earth tones suit light wood, rattan and pale walls, lending country-style or vintage interiors a relaxed, scholarly calm.
A timeless animal motif that brings rooms calm and quiet character.
